Ms Marvel, a mini-series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been drawing praise for its representation of South Asian culture and refreshing take on teenage superheroes. Fans and critics have also appreciated the soundtrack of the show which reflects the roots of the protagonist Kamala Khan who is Pakistani-American.
Atif Afzal is one of the music composers whose work features in the show. In a recent interview with a publication, Afzal revealed that one of the songs on the show was actually meant to be part of a Salman Khan film soundtrack.
Reportedly, two of Afzal's songs feature in the series--one is Aye Khuda and the other is called Dheemi Dheemi. According to reports, Afzal's Aye Khuda was supposed to be used in Khan's film but the plan did not materialise.

In an interview with PTI, Atif said, "I presented them around 12-15 tracks. The one they ended up liking the most was Aye Khuda, which apparently happens to be a composition which I did like a decade ago for a Salman Khan film, which didn't eventually go on the floor."
The film was supposed to be Atif's big break in Bollywood which never materialised. "That was supposed to be my first big break in Bollywood. I had just left my corporate job and Salman Khan picked me. It was crazy. But that did not happen. You feel a setback but then it makes it to Marvel. The song had its own journey," he added.
The singer-composer based in New York who goes by the stage name A-zal has also composed music for films like Prague, Monsoon Shootout and others in India. Meanwhile, his work has also featured in another MCU project— Tom Hiddleston's Loki.
Ms Marvel, part of MCU Phase 4, revolves around Kamala Khan (Imaan Vellani), a Pakistani-American teenager based in New Jersey who later discovers she has superpowers and has a family history going back to the Partition in 1947. The show also features Indian actors Mohan Kapur, Zenobia Shroff, and Saagar Shaikh as her family. Meanwhile, actors Farhan Akhtar and Fawad Khan appeared in a very brief cameo in the series.
