MCU Series 'Ms Marvel' Release Date Announced, Details Here

Ms Marvel will be introducing the world to the first-ever Muslim Superhero in Marvel, Kamala Khan. The American series will welcome a new superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe which will also be adapted into a future Marvel movie.

Marvel’s new superhero series is releasing in 2022 which will feature a Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan. The series is the background set-up for the Phase Four movie The Marvels which will release in 2023. The series will feature Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan along with a cast of Saagar Sheikh, Aramis Knight, Zenobia Shroff, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz and Mohan Kapur.

Here’s All We Know About Ms Marvel Release Date

Kamala hails from an immigrant family living in New Jersey. A great fan of superheroes, especially Captain Marvel, Kamala is completely unaware of the fact that she is not an ordinary human. She was among the group of people with advanced genetics that were a part of experiments carried out by Kree, an alien species, millions of years ago.

One day, her powers activate and Kamala realises that she too is a superhero. She discovers her super ability to harness cosmic energy and elasticity that enables her to reshape her body parts. Once she is officially declared a superhero, she decides on being known as Ms Marvel, after her favourite superhero Captain Marvel.

Kamala Khan or Ms Marvel debuted in Marvel’s comics of the same name by Gerry Conway and John Buscema in 2014. The character was created by Sana Amanat. In the series, she is introduced as a 16-year-old with a penchant for writing superhero fan fiction until she becomes one herself.

The series is created by Bisha K Ali and directed by Meera Menon, Sharmeen Ubaid-Chinoy and El Arbi and Fallah. Iman Vellani will further reprise her role in The Marvels which will be released in 2023.

Ms Marvel's shooting began in November 2020 and the cast filmed in various locations in Georgia, New Jersey and Atlanta, wrapping it up in May 2021 in Thailand. The six-episode series is all ready to release on Disney Plus Hotstar on June 8, 2022.
