Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur's upcoming film Jersey released its trailer today. The film has been directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also made the Telugu originaland is scheduled for a theatrical release on 31st December.
The film is a Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu movie of the same name. The Kabir Singh actor Kapoor features as a cricketer who decides to give it a shot to re-enter the game in his thirties for his son. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as Shahid Kapoor's wife and his real life father Pankaj Kapur as his mentor.
Kapoor earlier took to social media to share news about the upcoming film.

Sharing the first poster of the film he wrote, "IT'S TIME! We have waited to share this emotion with you for 2 years. This story is special. This team is special. This character is special. And the fact that we get to share it on the big screen with you all is special. I don't have words to express my gratitude. I hope you all feel what I felt when I played him. Here we go."
The trailer
The trailer shows Shahid Kapoor, as a once upon a time popular cricketer but not doing anything professionally when the story opens. He asks his wife for some money which she denies. He is show taking his son to his cricket training as well. The kid asks him for a cricket jersey as a gift on his birthday. Shahid, who is "struggling to make ends meet, wants to fulfill his child's wish".
Mrinal Thakur was recently seen in Dhamaka opposite Kartik Aaryan earlier she was seen in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial Toofan. Thakur and Abhimanyu Dassani’s will be seen in the film Aankh Micholi which will release in May 2022.
