However, much like his films, the Kaagaz actor’s disposition in real life is captivating. The trait that stands out is his utmost honesty. 

Although the Bollywood actor prefers to keep the spotlight away from his family, at rare occasions he has talked about his wife, Mridula Tripathi.  

In 2019, Pankaj Tripathi recounted his initial days in Mumbai and said, “My wife Mridula and I survived on her income in Mumbai. She was a qualified school teacher and she got a job in Mumbai while I did what all out-of-town actors in Mumbai do... Struggle."

• Pankaj Tripathi’s love story isn’t quite different from a Bollywood film. He met Mridula, the love of his life, in 1993 at a wedding. In an interview with ScoopWhoop, the actor confessed, “It was my sister’s wedding and I saw her on the balcony of the terrace and thought to myself, ‘This is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with’.  “And I did not even know who she was, or what her name was, at the time.” he added. At that time, Mridula was in class 9, while Pankaj was two years her senior.
• When Mridula’s parents seeked a marriage alliance for their daughter. However, she had no plans to leave Pankaj and went to great lengths to break up the marriage.
• Pankaj and Mridula tied the knot in 2004 and have a daughter together named Aashi Tripathi.
• Mridula is a teacher by profession and initially was the only breadwinner in the family. She supported her husband during his “struggle” days, and Pankaj has proudly professed that in interviews. 
• In an interview with Shethepeople, reacting to the actor’s statement about his wife earning the money, Mridula said, “Women are known to do the work but they are never acknowledged. That one sentence of acknowledgement makes me my family and my daughter so happy”.
