Monica, O My Darling: Know All About About Netflix's Upcoming Dark Comedy Here

Netflix recently announced a dark-comedy film titled Monica, O My Darling. The film helmed by director Vasan Bala is all set to premiere on the OTT platform on November 11. Written by Yogesh Chandekar, Monica, O My Darling is a satire-laced attempt at storytelling.

The whodunit dark-comedy featuring Radhika Apte, Huma S Qureshi and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles is an ode to the significance of storytelling. The film explores the dark side of all characters individually by connecting them to one thread and events that unfold leading to chaos and dysfunction.

Monica O My Darling release

Netflix shared the new look of the lead actors on its social media page and announced the date for the film's release. The film has an exciting ensemble cast of Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, Huma S Qureshi, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sikandar Kher, Bagavathi Perumal, Zayn Marie Khan and Sukant Goel.

The film is written by Yogesh Chandekar and directed by Vasant Bala of the 2018 release Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota fame. The film is produced by Sarita Patil, Sanjay Routray and Diksha J Routray of Matchbox Shots production house.

The streaming platform shared the teaser for the film last month in their Tudum event. The teaser showcases how Rao plays a small-town boy who visits the city to realise his dreams and finds himself in a cross-section of surprises and deceit. As a rollercoaster ride of mystery, betrayal, and crushing dreams, the film will explore the shady side of the characters played by the cast.

Radhika Apte has been a popular face on Netflix for a long time now while Rao was last seen on the platform in The White Tiger opposite Priyanka Chopra. Apart from Monica, O My Darling, Huma S Qureshi is all set to appear in a film titled Double XL alongside Sonakshi Sinha soon. Director Vasan Bala lately directed a short movie Ray in the anthology series Spotlight, which was released on Netflix.

The new character look, shared by the cast, shows Rao terrified while being trapped in a claw. The first looks of the complete cast are intriguing considering the diverse genre of the film, making it a much-anticipated film to be released in November.
