Upcoming Film 12th Man: Well-known Malayalam actor Mohanlal took to Twitter on Monday to announce his new film the 12th Man with Drishyam 2 Director Jeethu Joseph.
The superstar actor and director duo had the audience on the edge of their seats through the Drishyam series. They are all set to work again on another mystery film. Here are 10 things we know about Mohanlal’s upcoming thriller.
- 12th Man will be a horror mystery and will star Mohanlal as its lead. The poster was released by Mohanlal that gave a dark misty and eerie aura to the movie with the backdrop of a warm lit stone bungalow. The poster carries the tagline, “Unveiling the shadows”.
- Speaking to the Times Of India about the film, Jeethu Joseph stated that the project is set to be shot under pandemic conditions.
- The film is a 24-hour story with an engaging suspense plotline. The director also said that the film will be shot in secrecy.
- 12th man will not have many artists and stars. It will be shot in the Thodupuza district in Idukki, Kerala, which was also the setting for Drishyam.
- The shooting will commence after getting a green signal from the associated governmental authorities and the crew will follow all safety protocols.
- Mohanlal, who has acted in over 185 films, will be playing the lead. The final cast has yet not been finalised. “Things could change a bit here and there,” adds Joseph.
- The film is written by KR Krishnakumar and is cinematographed by Satheesh Kurup. Kurup has previously collaborated with the Drishyam director in Mr and Ms Rowdy.
- Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph will be reuniting for the fourth time with 12th Man. Apart from the Drishyam series, the director-actor duo has also worked together on Ram, which stars Trisha Krishnan as its leading lady.
- The film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner. Anil Johnson will compose the film's background score, while VS Vinayak will handle the editing.
- While there is no official confirmation, there are reports that the film might have an OTT release around October 2021.
