Modern Love Mumbai is the adaptation of the international series Modern Love. The online streaming platform, on Monday, April 25, announced that the Indianised version of the show is soon going to hit the phone screen. It is one of the three series that will be an adaptation of already famous international content. This is the Mumbai chapter of the original anthology, which is based in the United States.
The US version was helmed by John Carney but the Mumbai version will see six filmmakers coming together to deliver a masterpiece anthology, which is a culmination of various stories which run parallelly but are based on one particular theme.
The six filmmakers are going to be Vishal Bharadwaj, Hansal Mehta, Shonali Bose, Dhruv Sehgal, Alankrita Shrivastava and Nupur Asthana. The other Amazon Prime original series will feature six heartwarming stories about discovering and exploring love from all possible angles. It will be focused on the various shades and emotions that love usually holds.
Reportedly, there will be other local adaptations of the series will include—Modern Love: Chennai and Modern Love: Hyderabad.

As per the streaming platform, the lineup of stories and their titles includes—Raat Rani, which will be directed by Bose and stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Bhupendra Jadawat and Dilip Prabjavalkar, while Mehta's title is Baai and it includes Tanuja, Pratik Gandhi and Ranveer Brar.
Another title Mumbai Dragon is going to be by Bhardwaj and will include Yeo Yann Yann, Meiyang Chang, Wamiqa Gabbi and Naseeruddin Shah. Shrivastava will be working on My Beautiful Wrinkles, which will star Sarika, Danesh Razvi, Ahsaas Channa and Tanvi Azmi.
Sehgal's part is titled I Love Thane and it will include Masaba Gupta, Ritwik Bhowmik, Prateik Babbar, Aadar Malik and Dolly Singh. Asthana will be directing the title Cutting Chai, which will feature Chitrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi.
Modern Love Mumbai Release Date
Hansal Mehta shared it on his Twitter feed and captioned it, "Making way into your (heart emojis) #ModernLoveOnPrime." The show is going to release on May 13.
