Mister Mummy depicts the life of a couple caught up in an odd and nearly impossibly complex biological predicament. Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza play the married couple Amol and Gugloo, but when Amol unexpectedly becomes pregnant, madness ensues.  The makers recently dropped the trailer for the film, and fans were enthralled by the surprising plot and the iconic lead pair.

Deshmukh and  D'Souza will reunite on screen in their drama-comedy Mister Mummy after a ten-year absence. Riteish Deshmukh played the lead part in the pair's other collaboration, the successful Marathi movie Lai Bhaari from 2014. Genelia backed the production and made a cameo appearance in the movie. The duo recently revealed Ved, their other Marathi project together.

However, days after the trailer was released, Akash shared a screenshot of his conversation with T-Series and wrote on Facebook, "We had a detailed discussion with T-series in 2020 regarding my film Pet se and they had agreed to Co-Produce. Later they come up with their sh** version (without any logic) of my film. My Story and concept is registered with SWA, Mumbai. #tseries #CreditDue.”

The director also provided photos that demonstrated how he had created a mock poster for his 2020 movie, Pet Se. Ayushmann Khurrana plays the lead in Pet Se in the images he uploaded. T-Series has not yet addressed the accusations. According to the movie posters, both movies are about the shock and discomfort that follow their male characters' becoming pregnant. Akash produced his father, Agnidev Chatterjee's, 2013 film A Political Murder.

Mister Mummy, which will be helmed by Shaad Ali, will be released later this year. Mahesh Manjrekar and Ila Arun play significant roles as well.
