Mission Majnu OTT Release: What Is The Spy Thriller About?

Espionage thrillers films are gaining massive popularity in the country as the audience is now exploring and accepting all sides of cinema. Banking in this, a unique spy story featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Sidharth Malhotra is all set to grace the coming year, and the new release details that the makers announced today are nothing but exciting.

The film Mission Majnu which explores an intelligence agent’s story will now be released on an OTT platform instead of the theatres. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, the film is set against the 1970s backdrop.

Mission Majnu OTT Release

Actor Sidharth Malhotra took to social media to share the poster of the film and announced the new release details. His co-star Rashmika Mandanna shared the news on her social media as well, generating excitement among those who are looking forward to seeing the pair on screen for the first time. The film explores the story of an Indian agent who sets out to Pakistan to lead an undercover mission. Sharing the OTT release poster, Malhotra wrote, "an untold story of a brave heart."

Earlier this week, Sidharth took to Instagram to share the teaser of Mission Majnu and wrote, "Iss Majnu ke kaam karne ka tarika alag hai (The style of working of this Majnu is different)." Watch the teaser ">here.

The film was earlier scheduled to release in the theatres in June, however, after much speculation and changes in the dates, it will finally appear on OTT platform. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Apart from Mandanna and Malhotra, the cast of Mission Majnu includes Parmeet Sethi, Kumud Mishra, Arjan Bajwa, Sharib Hashmi, Mir Sarwar and Zakir Hussain among others. The film is inspired by real-life events that took place in the 1970s era and will surface one of the country's most significant operations on Pakistan soil. The film is not just action-packed but will also feature a love story that will pave way for sacrifices and betrayal.

Malhotra last appeared in the film Thank God, while Mandanna was last seen in the film Goodbye. Malhotra's two films Yodha and Indian Police Force are slated to release in 2023 while Mandanna will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in the film Animal.

Mission Majnu will release on January 20, 2023, on the OTT streaming platform Netflix.
