Since the photographs initially surfaced online, the actor who bared it all for a shoot for a magazine has made numerous headlines. If a woman had done a similar photo shoot, she wondered if the response to the images would be any different.

She wrote, "The internet erupted over Ranveer Singh's most recent photoshoot, and most of the responses were fire emojis. I'm curious if the praise would have been the same if she had been a woman. Alternately, you might have set her house on fire, joined protests, threatened to kill her, and slut shamed her (sic). "

Her subsequent tweet addressed equality and urged readers to view things from different angles. Her tweet said, "We discuss equality, but where is it now? You are aware that your viewpoint has the power to completely change or alter an object. In this situation, let's extend our vision because, believe me, getting that body requires a lot of sacrifice—it contains no salt, sugar, or carb."

For those unaware, Mimi Chakraborty is an Indian politician, singer, and actor. Her contributions to Bengali film and television are well known. The Calcutta Times' list of the Most Desirable Women for 2016 and 2020 included her name. She entered politics in 2019 and ran as a Trinamool Congress candidate in the Indian general election from the Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency. She represents the Jadavpur constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha as a member of parliament.
