Mia Khalifa divorce: The model is parting ways with her husband of two years, Robert Sandberg. A former adult film star-turned-influencer, Khalifa got engaged to the Swedish chef in March 2019 and had planned a wedding ceremony in June 2020.
However, they called off their wedding due to the ongoing pandemic and resorted to exchanging vows in the kitchen of their first home on 10 June 2019.
The couple is now going their separate ways after announcing their divorce on social media. Khalifa revealed that they went through therapy for a year yet couldn’t save their marriage.
She said that they “gave it our all” to make their marriage work and now they have decided to walk away; they have “a friend for life in each other”.
Mia Khalifa Divorce Reason: Here's What Happened
Mia Khalifa and Robert Sandberg shared all stages of their relationship through their time together on social media with photos and videos, and coming full circle, also shared with fans their decision to end it with a note on Instagram.
"We will always love and respect each other because we know that not one isolated incident caused our split, but rather, a culmination of unresolvable, fundamental differences that no one can blame the other for,” Khalifa said on her account.
"We are closing this chapter with no regrets and both starting our own, separately, but connected through incredible family, friends and our love for our dogs,” she added.
Khalifa and her chef husband had plans for a big belated wedding bash for all their friends and family, and about which she spoke on Instagram quite a lot. Fast forward to July 22, Khalifa announced that they won't be going through with their previous plans and that she and Sandberg are mutually walking away from their marriage.
