Meher Vij Tests Positive: Actor Meher Vij tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, her co-star Swara Bhasker confirmed the news via a tweet.
Meher Vij, Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania and others associated with the film Jahaan Chaar Yaar were in Goa shooting for the film. With Meher Vij testing positive for the virus and the current situation of the country with the rising number of cases, the makers of Jahaan Chaar Yaar have decided to put off the shooting for the time being.
Swara Bhasker in her tweet on Friday wrote, “Was shooting in Goa for #JahaanChaarYaar where co-actor #MeherVij tested positive for COVID-19. Our producer @vinodbachchan did the responsible thing by suspending shoot, quarantining crew & having everyone tested. Hope to resume shooting soon! Get well soon Meher 🤗💚 #COVID19."
The producer of Jahaan Chaar Yaar spoke a newspaper and said that Meher Vij was the only positive cast on the sets as everyone else tested negative. “We immediately took action considering the rising cases. The shoot was suspended and the entire team was quarantined to their rooms and everyone was tested," he said
"Fortunately the entire cast and crew, except for Meher Vij, have tested negative. However looking at the current scenario of the pandemic and rising cases; we have decided to postpone the shoot,” he added.
The cast and crew of Jahaan Chaar Yaar had been busy with the film's schedule in Goa in the few weeks. Swara Bhasker even celebrated her birthday earlier this month with the cast members. As per the makers, Jahaan Chaar Yaar is a film about womanhood and female friendship. Directed by Kamal Pandey, the film follows four women played by Shikha Talsania, Meher Vij, Swara Bhasker and Pooja Chopra. The group of four married women one day decide to shake things up in their lives and go on a trip to Goa together.
The film went on floors in March this year with its first schedule in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
