The Matrix 4 trailer is out: The fourth chapter in sci-fi film franchise The Matrix has been titled The Matrix: Resurrections, studio Warner Bros has announced this week. It sees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss back in their roles as Neo and Trinity. The first trailer was reportedly unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. The Matrix: Resurrections also stars Watchmen and Candyman star Yahya Abdul Mateen II and Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The Matrix (1999), The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003) - the original trilogy became a fan favorite sci-fi action. It has won four Oscars in the categories of sound, visual effects, editing and sound editing. Reeves and Moss are returning for the first time since 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions alongside Jada Pinkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff. The film comes from original co-director Lana Wachowski who will be directing the franchise solo this time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer of the long-awaited sequel was played for the CinemaCon audiences but has not been released online.

"I just saw the trailer for The Matrix: Resurrections at CinemaCon and it looks so badass," Scott Menzel wrote adding, “I was so worried that it wasn’t going to WOW me but I was totally wrong. The only thing that shocked me is that a few of the main characters don’t appear in the trailer." Brandon Davis noted how fantastic Reeves looks and added that the minute he saw the footage, it was epic. "It looks like it might even over-deliver."

Keanu Reeves looks fantastic as Neo. Neo & Trinity were WRECKING SH!T by the end!!! Motorcycles, helicopters, rocket launchers, jumping off buildings in incredible slow-mo.

The trailer of The Matrix: Resurrections has not been made available for viewing online as of yet.
The trilogy concluded with the deaths of Reeves's Anderson/Neo and Moss's Trinity but reportedly they both will be back in the new installment. The upcoming film will also star Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Ellen Hollman and Christina Ricci - all newcomers to the series - in various roles. Earlier last year, Chopra had posted a video where she was seen striking a shot as she played golf while shooting for the American science fiction action film.
The much-hyped trailer is expected to drop online today, on August 25. And, the film is slated to come out on December 22 in cinemas.
