The movie stars veteran actor Neena Kulkarni in the lead role, playing the character of Maee. Photo-Prem catches the dilemma of an elder woman, a grandma who is camera conscious but wants her family to remember her after she passes away through a good photo frame. Hence, she tries to search for a good picture of her's that may have been taken. But she doesn't find any. Her granddaughter, a tweenager is seen encouraging her grandma through the fear of the camera and increasing her self-esteem through the process. So far the movie has received good reviews.

In the age of selfies and reels, there are very less pictures that are printed or framed. Further, photo frames are becoming something that's reserved for something very special. As the tradition goes of hanging the picture of the dead in Marathi families, Maee, played by Neena Kulkarni is faced with the question of what her family would hang after her demise.

Maee decides that it has to be something special so that she remains in the memory of her loved ones. But she refrains from clicking any new pictures as she is camera-conscious. Therefore, the Photo frame has been changed to Photo-Prem indicating the whole essence of the movie where Maee is on the path of self-love.

Neena Kulkarni seen playing the protagonist in the film gave an interview about her experience in the movie. She said, "The quintessential story of Maee in ‘Photo Prem’ is one which deserves to be showcased as widely as possible. It is a movie for everyone and I hope it will be showered with the same quantum of love with which we made it."
