Priyanka Chopra Lauds Makers Of Marathi Film 'Chandramukhi', Film Set To Release

Since the trailer of director Prasad Oak’s Marathi film Chandramukhi was released five days ago, it has taken the internet by storm. The latest to heap praises on the trailer and congratulate Amruta Khanvilkar and Adinath Kothare, the protagonists of the film, is Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra.

Priyanka Chopra on April 26, Tuesday, took to her Instagram story to congratulate the entire team of the film Chandramukhi. Sharing the poster of the film, the actor wrote, “Congratulations… Adinath Kothare. Check Out Chandramukhi.”

Recently, Madhuri Dixit also took to her Instagram story to share a good luck message for both Kothare and Khanvilkar. The actor shared the trailer of the film in her story and wrote, “What an interesting trailer!! 'Chandramukhi' is definitely on my watchlist.”

The gripping trailer of the film opens with a conversation between Kothare and Amruta’s Chandramukhi with the former lavishing praises for her talent. Everything seems fine in the two-minute trailer for the first few shots but things go awry pretty quickly for both Kothare who plays the character of a politician opposite Amruta.

Chandramukhi is devastated to learn that the politician she is courting is married. However, things only worsen for the Lavani dancer when the news is spread like wildfire everywhere and she is dragged into the world of politics and insulted on multiple accounts.

Oak’s film is based on a Marathi novel of the same name by author Vishwas Patil. It also stars Mrunmayee Deshpande, Dr Mohan Agashe and Rajendra Shisatkar in pivotal roles.

Marathi Film Chandramukhi Release Date

The Marathi film which is all set to release on April 29 is the first film where Amruta has starred in the lead role. She essays the character of a Lavani dancer whose life changes course after some unexpected incidents.

Amruta Khanvilkar in a recent conversation with Filmfare elaborately spoke about her character Chandramukhi. She was quoted saying, "Chandra is a one-of-a-kind role that gets conceived and made very very rarely. She’s an artist who wants to preserve the dying folk art form. She wants to give these Tamasha artists a platform of their own."

Khanvilkar added, "She takes on all the struggle just to save her art. Her language, the diction, and the entire personality of Chandra are something I have never experienced before in any of my roles. Even the way she dances is not me."
