Marathi actor Atul Parchure has died at the age of 57 on October 14, 2024. He breathed his last on Monday. October 15 following a battle with cancer. Atul Parchure leaves behind a significant legacy in both Marathi and Bollywood cinema. He shared the screen with prominent actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Ajay Devgn.
His filmography boasts appearances in movies such as "Navra Mazha Navsacha", "Salaam-E-Ishq", "Partner", "All the Best: Fun Begins", "Khatta Meetha" and "Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap" among others.
In television, he showcased his comedic talent on The Kapil Sharma Show, earning a special place in the hearts of audiences.
Family and Personal Life
Parchure is survived by his mother, wife Sonia Parchure, and their children, Sakheel and a son. His family has requested privacy during this difficult time. Sonia Parchure, a celebrated dancer, is also a panellist at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and has been performing since the age of six. She trained extensively in Kathak under notable mentors like Dr Manjiri Deo and Padmashree Gopi Krishna.
Their daughter, Sakheel Parchure, is a fashion stylist who describes herself as “vintage in vogue.” She owns two businesses: Peppermint Bombay and The Arts Space Mumbai, and often shares moments with her family on social media.
Following the news of Parchure's death, many actors and fans expressed their condolences online. Actor Supriya Pilgaonkar shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying, “Dear friend, you shouldn’t have been like this. You fought a lot! Your silly smile will always be missed. May your soul rest in peace.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also paid tribute, describing Parchure as a talented actor who could evoke both laughter and tears. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Shinde reflected on Parchure's contributions to the performing arts, noting his impactful presence in theatre, film, and television.
He was a good actor.. also that scene from Om Shanti Om in which he keeps forgetting his lines during a movie shoot is too good! Sometimes we don't realise that a scene only gets registered in our minds bcoz of the actor who did it wonderfully!
