Manushi Chillar And Vicky Kaushal's Forthcoming YRF Film Named 'The Great Indian Family'

Manushi Chillar films: The beauty pageant winner's next film after Prithviraj will star Vicky Kaushal, and is named The Great Indian Family.

Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut this year with Akshay Kumar in the historical drama Prithiviraj, signed her second film with Yash Raj films in August 2020. She will be seen romancing Vicky Kaushal in the forthcoming YRF production. As per the reports, the movie, which remained unnamed all along its shoot, has been named The Great Indian Family or TGIF.

It will reportedly be a comedy revolving around a dysfunctional family. The source of the news told, "It's a mad cap comedy of errors and Vicky's first comedy film. It's also called the same because TGIF is also a very millennial term. But it's a tentative title. Aditya Chopra could also ask for a change on the same."

Although the shooting of the movie has reportedly been completed, the movie will not release this year. The makers of the movie plan to release the movie in early 2022. The reason behind this is Manushi's big debut with Prithviraj in Diwali 2021. "Prithviraj releases on Diwali this year and the makers are clear that this has to be Manushi's debut project because it's a grand period drama that will position her really well," reported Bollywood Hungama.

The former Miss World, who brought the crown back home after 17 years, will first star in the Bollywood adaptation of the biographic poem of Prithviraj Chauhan, Prithviraj Raso. The film will highlight the warrior king's early life, his accomplishments, marriage to Queen Sanyukta and his valorous battle with Muhammad Ghori. Prithiviraj will be one of the many biggest releases of 2021, slated to release this Diwali.

As for Vicky Kaushal, he is currently shooting for Vijay Krishna Acharya's next directorial. Last month, the actor posted a photo on Instagram with the filmmaker with a caption, "What an absolute joyride this one's been! Wish I could share more details... ab ke liye itna hi (that's all for now)." The photo got all his fans hyped up for the movie.

Furthermore, Vicky will also start shooting for Shashank Khaitan's Mr. Lele very soon, followed by Aditya Dhar's Ashwatthama.
