Malayalam films Malik and Cold Case To Release on OTT
Anto Joseph, a Malayalam film producer announced that his high-budget films, Malik and Cold Case will get an OTT release. He also revealed the real reason behind not opting for a theatrical release.
The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic forced theatres to shut their doors once again.
“These films will only recover their production costs only if 100 per cent occupancy is allowed. Since there is no clarity on when the theatres will reopen and given the existing economic hurdles, I’m trying for an OTT release for these films,” said Anto Joseph, while adding that he is facing a financial crunch.
However, he didn't reveal anything about the OTT platforms on which both films will be released. Many people in the industry feel that he might want to release the films on Amazon Prime Video, but nothing is clear yet.
The much-awaited film, Malik is a political drama, starring Fahadh Faasil, Biju Menon, Nimisha Sajayan, Dileesh Pothan and Vinay Forrt, etc.
