Dr Priya, known for her work in the Malayalam television industry and the show Karuthamuthu, passed away due to cardiac arrest while she was eight months pregnant. Her baby has survived and is currently under intensive care.
The news was shared by the actor Kishor Satya, who penned a heart-wrenching note on Instagram on the morning of November 1. It was reported that doctors were able to save Dr Priya's baby, who is currently in an intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital where the actor lost her life.
The news comes just two days after another 35-year-old Malayalam actor Renjusha Menon's death. Menon was found hanging in the flat she shared with her actor-husband Manoj. In October, another 33-year-old Malayalam actor Aparna Nair was found hanging in the residence she shared with her husband and their children.
Dr Priya Dies Of Cardiac Arrest
Dr Priya actor reportedly used to visit the hospital for regular pregnancy check-ups. Satya, in his post, informed that the late actor was eight months pregnant and she had no prior health issues.
Satya continued describing the loss of the late actor saying her crying mother is unable to accept the death of her only daughter, while her husband Nanna whom he described as a "loving husband" is in pain as he had not moved away from his wife for six months given her pregnancy.
The actor ended his note by praying for the late actor's family saying he had no idea how her grieving family would recover, praying that they find the strength to do so.
A popular figure in Malayalam television, Dr Priya was also a doctor and was pursuing an MD. She was also working in Thiruvananthapuram's PRS Hospital and took a career hiatus after getting married.
