Anna

The simple story centered around a young girl’s innocent wish holds a message of hope. The short film focuses on the inspirational quote by author Paulo Coelho in his book The Alchemist, “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”. A girl named Anna harbours a wish to ring the conductor’s bell in the bus she takes to school. She wants the universe to grant her this wish the schoolgirl has been cherishing for a while.

The short film starring Anupama Parameswaran and Hakkim Shajahan revolves around a woman and her sexual freedom. The 29-minute-film focuses on a woman, Chandra, who is a devoted wife and a career woman. The story spans out when she finds her husband cheating on her with a series of virtual affairs.

Scent

Written and directed by Jayakumar Menon, the 23-minute short film has bagged 16 international awards. The heart-warming story about parenthood revolves around a father who goes the extra mile for his daughter’s future. Even though the protagonist comes from a financially backward family, he puts in efforts to provide his daughter everything even if it's beyond his capacities.

 

Thirike

The comedy-drama film co-directed by George Kora and Sam Xavier, is a tale of brotherhood. It focuses on a young man who abducts his own brother with Down Syndrome to reclaim his past. Notably, one of the protagonists is played by an actor with Down Syndrome.

The Notion

The experimental project, which was filmed in 12 hours over 2 days, revolves around the widow of a former NSG Commander and Mumbai Terror Attack survivor. When the latter dies by suicide after 9 years, his wife becomes the source of information for the authorities.

The short film won a number of awards including the Swarna Kamal at the 63rd National Film Awards for Best Direction in Non-Feature section. The film Directed by Christo Tomy, set in suburban Kolkata, centres on a 17-year-old pregnant teenager who is left in the lurch by her boyfriend.

Charulata

The film directed by Shruthi Namboodiri spans out when Charulatha finds a book filled with black and white pictures of her younger days, she is taken back to her old romance. Set during the national emergency in India is a short musical that shows the changing cultural and social landscapes.
