Prominent actor Kozhikode Sarada, who appeared in Malayalam films and television serials, has reportedly passed away. Reports on Tuesday said she had been unwell for a long period and was seeking treatment for her ill health. She was 75 years old.
Sarada was facing health issues for which she was admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, Kerala on the night of November 8, according to Manorama. She suffered a fatal cardiac arrest a day later and died around 9:30 AM. Some reports suggest Sarada breathed her last in the same hospital where she worked as a nursing assistant for many years.
She is survived by four children.
Multiple ministers in Kerala have condoled Sarada's death and messages expressing grief are pouring in from the South film industry. Saji Cherian, Kerala Minister for Films and Culture, said Sarada was a "strong" actor and would be missed.
Malayalam film star Prithviraj Sukumaran paid his tributes on social media by sharing a photo of the late actor, saying, "Rest in peace."

Kozhikode Sarada: Remembering The Veteran Actor
A stage and film veteran, Sarada started her career with theatre before moving into cinema. Her first screen appearance was in Angakkuri, a Malayalam film from 1979 directed by Vijayanand. Her most well-loved performances were in Sallapam Anubandham, Nalkavala and Anubandham.
She hailed from Velliparamba in Kozhikode.
Sarada's career spanned over four decades and 80 films. The last feature she was seen in was earlier this year in the short film Jara directed by Sreevalsan J Menon.
