Malaika Arora gets COVID vaccine: Malaika Arora, who had contracted the COVID-19 infection last year in September, received the first jab of the coronavirus vaccine on Friday.
Sharing the news, Arora wrote on Instagram, "I took the first dose of the COVID vaccine. Because #wereinthistogether! Lets go warriors, lets win this #WarAgainstVirus. Dont forget to take yours soon ! (sic)"
Arora got her first dose of the vaccine from a health worker at Lilavati Hospital. She also had her mask on while taking the shot and shared the picture on social media. She further praised the healthcare workers who were carrying ou vaccination, saying, "special mention to our amazing frontline workers, who were so caring n vigilant n went about doin everything with a smile. THANK YOU (sic)." The 47-year-old jokingly added that she is indeed eligible to take the vaccine.
On September 7 last year, Arora had revealed in a social media post that she had come down with "mild" symptoms of COVID-19. The actor undertook the COVID-19 test after a few crew members of the dance reality show that she judges, tested positive for the virus. Arora urged people to not take the virus for granted even if they are fit. She recovered after few days and had noted, "In those 14 days, I knew how weak I was, it was so difficult to go back to things I was doing every single day of my life."
She had then written on Instagram, "I feel so blessed to have overcome this virus with minimum pain and discomfort. A big thanks to my doctors for their medical guidance, to BMC for making this process hassle-free, to my family for their immeasurable support and to all my friends, neighbours and fans for all their good wishes and the strength that I got from your messages and support. I can't thank you all enough in words for what everyone has done for me in these difficult times. All of you please stay safe and take care."
Recently, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to announce that he has also received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
