Maja Ma Trailer
Akin to a true blue Bollywood entertainer, Maja Ma is set against the celebratory backdrop of a traditional festival. The trailer gives us a glimpse into the life of Pallavi (essayed by Dixit) – a delightful woman who is the backbone of her middle-class family. Her son, played by Ritwik, dotes on her as he emphatically mentions at the beginning of the clip. However, things start to fall when a rumour about her, threatens to disrupt her son Tejas’ engagement with a rich, NRI girl, putting her family in jeopardy. The conflict tests existing relationships for resilience, understanding and beliefs. Watch the trailer ">here.
Talking about her character, Dixit said in a statement, “With Maja Ma, what I am most excited about is my character. It is a role with complex nuances that I have never played before. Pallavi Patel carries enormous responsibility around – as a mother, wife and contributing member of society with such ease and grace that it becomes easy to overlook her strength, conviction, and resilience. She goes through many emotions that could have strong repercussions on her life and the lives of people she loves.”
She added, “I am so excited to share this film with my fans and audiences. Working with the cast and crew of the film has been a lovely experience.”
Tiwari, who also helmed Prime Video's Bandish Bandits, said, “This wonderful drama boasts a very flexible cast who breathe life into their characters brilliantly and beautifully. It will simultaneously tug at the viewers’ emotions and make them chuckle. Maja Ma’s Prime Video premiere makes me very happy. Witnessing Indian content being viewed by audiences throughout the world is incredibly satisfying.”
Dixit had earlier made her OTT debut with the series, The Fame Game, which starred Sanjay Kapoor. Currently, the actor serves as one of the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judges.
The film will stream on Amazon Prime from October 6
