Never Have I Ever
The latest and final season of Mindy Kaling's high school comedy-drama Never Have I Ever recreated the hit song Saami Saami from Indian movie Pushpa: The Rise.
In one of the episodes, the main lead Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and her cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani) dance to the Hindi dubbed version of Saami Saami at a wedding party which was immensely loved by the Indian fans of the Netflix series as well as actor Rashmika Mandanna who was in the original song.
The series also featured songs like Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna, Dum Maaro Dum and Nagada Sang Dhol in earlier seasons as well.
Ms Marvel
This MCU mini-series based on Pakistani-American Kamala Khan's superhero abilities featured a brown wedding in one of the episodes. The main lead Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, and her entire family danced to the song Dil Bole Hadippa from Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee's 2009 movie Dil Bole Hadippa.
The cast can be seen doing bhangra on the Bollywood song while the bride and groom and their guests enjoy their performance. The recreation took the internet by storm as everyone loved it.
The Guru
This Hollywood film is about an Indian man named Ramu Gupta, played by Jimi Mistry, who moves to Hollywood to be a movie star but ends up getting mistaken as a sex guru and becomes a renowned celebrity in his new profession. The film had a scene where Mistry danced to the popular song from Bollywood Mela, Chori Chori Hum Gori Se Pyar Karenge, in front of a white family to demonstrate to them that dance is love. The recreation was exciting to watch.
The Accidental Husband
The Accidental Husband is a 2008 Hollywood movie about a woman who gives people love advice on her radio talk show but finds herself in a dilemma when a stranger appears out of nowhere and claims himself to be her husband.
The film has an Indian wedding scene in which the cast is seen grooving to Bollywood songs like Chalka Chalka Re, Mujhe Rang De and Swasame Swasame. The cast is dressed in Indian attire and can be seen dancing happily to Bollywood beats.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
This 2015 Hollywood comedy film featured Dev Patel, Tina Desai, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy in pivotal roles. The movie is about a hotel owner who wants to expand his business while dealing with his wedding and other personal issues.
There is a scene from the wedding of Sonny Kapoor, played by Dev Patel, in which he dances to Jhoom Barabar Jhoom song from the 2007 movie of the same name starring Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta. The Indian audience loved seeing Dev Patel's great moves on the Bollywood number.
