Arab-Israeli actor Maisa Abd Elhadi has been accused of 'supporting terrorism' in a social media post supporting Hamas' terror attack in Israel. She was arrested on Monday and will be kept under custody until Thursday, October 26, as confirmed by her lawyer and police.
Elhadi, who lives in the Northern Israeli city of Nazareth has been arrested by the Israeli forces on suspicion of "incitement to terrorism" over a social media post that was shared about Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel.
The actor allegedly posted a picture of a bulldozer breaching the fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel during the October 7 rocket attack by the militant group Hamas. She captioned her post as "Let's go Berlin-style" which was a reference to the German wall in Berlin that partitioned Germany until 1989.

Elhadi's attorney, Jaafar Farah who is also the director of the Human Rights Association in Mousawat said to the news outlet AFP, that Hadi is accused of "supporting terrorism" as he confirmed the actor's detention on Tuesday.
According to rights campaigners and Israeli police, members of Israel's Arab minority and Palestinians in east Jerusalem have been fired, expelled from colleges and arrested over comments expressing solidarity with Gaza residents since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas. Israeli Arabs comprise a fifth of Israel's population, reports AFP.
Earlier this week, Arab-Israeli singer Dalal Abu Amneh was briefly detained over one of her social media posts by the Israeli forces as well.
Who Is Maisa Abd Elhadi?
37-year-old Elhadi is an Israeli Palestinian Arab actress. She was born in Nazareth to Muslim parents and studied at the Beit Zvi School of Acting. She has appeared in numerous Israeli and international films and television shows, including Eyes of a Thief (2014), 3000 Nights (2015), The Worthies (2016), The Angel (2018), Baghdad Central (2020), and Huda's Salon (2021).
In 2011, Abd Elhadi won the Best Actress award at the Dubai International Film Festival for her role in the film Habibi Rasak Kharban. She is also a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights and has been critical of the Israeli government. In 2021, she was reportedly wounded by Israeli forces while taking part in a demonstration in Haifa protesting the forced expulsions of Palestinian families from their homes in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
