Mai Reviews: Actor Sakshi Tanwar's Performance Hailed By Twitterati

Mai reviews have been trending online after the release of the web series. The show headlined by Sakshi Tanwar is dark, gritty and full of twists-turns in a journey of a mother trying to uncover the truth behind her daughter's sudden death. She is determined to get justice for her daughter and no one can come in the way of her investigating the case.

Tanwar as the 47-year-old mother is a docile housewife who is far away from being an investigator. She is seen by different people differently like by her family an emotionally broken mother, by law a devastated mother and by the investigating officer a woman from a good household.

None of these sections can think that she can be a shrewd investigator and fight against the criminal forces to get justice for her daughter, who she initially thought died in an accident but later came to know that there is a darker plot involved.

The show is created by Atul Mongia and Anshai Lal. Other than Tanwar playing the lead role, the cast includes Raima Sen, Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, Seema Pahwa and others, whose acting has become a talking point for most viewers.

The show was released on April 15, yesterday and people on Twitter can hardly stop talking about the show or the leading actor Sakshi Tanwar's performance as Sheel.

A user wrote, "Give Sakshi Tanwar an Emmy for #Mai on Netflix! What a performance. Trying to hide her grief but somehow bubbling out of her in the worse ways, the sudden bouts of anger, the love of a mother who will go to extreme lengths to avenge her daughter...Sakshi Tanwar is brilliant."

Another applauded Tanwar's performance and wrote, "I started watching it and couldn't stop it. #Mai #netflixmai #Netflix." While Nitesh R Shahani, who is a fan of Madhuri Dixit for life (according to his Twitter bio) wrote, "#SakshiTanwar yet again proves to be a terrific performer with the new Netflix series- Mai. The show gets intriguing & the final twist is indeed unexpected. It shows the extent to which a simple saree clad woman can go to find & punish ppl responsible for her daughter's death."
