Sakshi Tanwar Led-Series Mai Drops Trailer. Here Is A Look At The Cast

There have been multiple releases online about women fighting for their families in recent times, particularly in Hindi. The series, headlined by Sakshi Tanwar is possibly going to enter in that list of films as in the show Mai, she plays the role of a 47-year-old housewife who turns into an investigator and steps a foot in the world of crime as she tries to figure out the reason behind the killing of her daughter.

The trailer of the show was released today. It is grim and starts with a force that reckons that the audience along with the characters is soon going to step into the world of crime and power struggle. In the two minutes ten seconds long trailer, the character played by Tanwar goes through various emotions - regret, pain, anger and helplessness.

She takes along the emotions with a fierce attitude wherein she struggles with the fact of her daughter's death who was crushed by a truck in front of her eyes. The show kickstarts from there and the rest of the trailer is focused on Tanwar while the other characters are introduced.

The show is helmed by Anshai Lal, who first made his debut as a ">director with Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Phillauri. Along with Lal, the show is directed by Atul Mongia, who is a popular casting director in the Hindi film industry. The show is produced under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz, which has earlier produced films like NH10 and Bulbul, amongst others.

Sakshi Tanwar

Tamwar is known for her work in Hindi television shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Apart from the tv shows, she also starred in the 2016 film opposite Aamir Khan and as the mother of Geeta and Babita Phogat in Dangal. She was also a part of the thriller film Dial 100, along with Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta.

Wamiqa Gabbi

She has worked in Punjabi, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu language films. Gabbi made her debut with the Hindi film Jab We Met in 2007. But she became popular with Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 in 2013. It was a Punjabi film, for which she was even nominated as best supporting actress for the PTC Punjabi Film Awards.

Raima Sen

She has worked in both Hindi and Bengali language cinema. Sen made her debut with the film Godmother. The film had Shabana Azmi in the leading role. She also played the daughter of Raveena Tandon in the film Daman. However, her breakthrough role was in Rituparno Ghosh's film Chokher Bali.

Seema Pahwa

The actor has been applauded for her critically acclaimed cinema. She also made her directorial debut with the film Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi. Pahwa was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi which has Alia Bhatt in the lead role. She is known for her work in Ankhon Dekhi, Hum Log, Bareilly Ki Barfi, amongst others.
