Ekta Kapoor and Dibakar Banerjee had announced the sequel earlier in 2021, but due to various factors, the film's production got delayed. Nonetheless, the makers are now gearing up to commence filming for the sequel shortly.
Earlier, Ekta Kapoor and Dibakar Banerjee made an appearance on the reality show Bigg Boss 16 to conduct auditions for the sequel to their film. According to reports, contestant Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia has been chosen to play the leading lady in the sequel.
The upcoming movie, however, will face a significant Bollywood clash as it coincides with the release of Akshay Kumar's untitled film, a Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru.
