Lord of the Rings series has been making a commotion since the creators released a new teaser trailer exclusively on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Many famous characters can be seen reprising their roles in the upcoming series. What can fans expect from the new Lord of the Rings series?
The new Lord of the Rings series titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will release on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on September 2, 2022. The streaming service released a teaser trailer for the upcoming series providing an exclusive sneak-peek into the fantastical world to its members. Galadriel, Bronwyn, Prince Durin, Elrond, Arondir along with a couple of Ents can be seen in the exclusive teaser.
Actors Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle and others will be seen in the new Lord of the Rings series. The show will be based on JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings novels much like the two famous film trilogies. The events in the show will take place thousands of years before The Hobbit, around the Second Age of Middle-Earth. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the first TV series adaptation of the novels.
According to reports, Prime paid 250 million dollars to buy the rights for the books along with one billion dollar commitment for producing a five-season series. Showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay will be working with directors JA Bayona, Wayne Yip and Charlotte Brändström for the series. Reportedly, the new Lord of the Rings series will comprise of eight episodes in the first season. It is also reported that the shoot for the first season took place in New Zealand where the previous film scenes of the middle-earth were shot while the production for the second season is supposed to take place in the UK.
The official series description reads, "take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and one of the greatest villains that ever flowed from JRR Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness." Needless to say, viewers can expect new adventures along with drama and entertaining graphics in the upcoming Amazon Prime series.

The show will air in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages on the streaming service.
