Looop Lapeta Cast And Release Date: Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Film

Looop Lapeta cast: 2022 is gearing up for some exciting new women-centric releases, one of which is the Taapsee Pannu-starrer thriller, Looop Lapeta. Set for a February premiere on OTT, the film is Pannu's first title for the upcoming year. Prior to its release, the film has managed to drum up excitement among fans for the legacy it stands on.

Directed by Aakash Bhatia, Looop Lapeta is an official remake of the German film Run Lola Run, which starred Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu in significant roles.

The 1998 original won widespread acclaim and following its release, partook notably in major film festivals around the world, including the Oscars. It is a thriller that follows the story of a young woman racing against time to save her partner's life. More here.

Given the pandemic period, Looop Lapeta has had to modify its release plans. The film shoot wrapped up in Goa in February 2021. On social media a month later, Pannu announced that her film would get a theatrical release on October 22, 2021. She shared a short teaser for the film, calling it a "comic thriller."

However, later that year in December, she revealed that Looop Lapeta would head straight for a direct OTT release owing to the COVID-19 situation. The film will premiere on Netflix on February 4.

"I promise you that #loooplapeta will be the craziest ride of the year. We’re on to something truly, truly special," producer Tanujj Garg shared on social media last year.

Looop Lapeta Cast And Story: What You Should Know

A trailer for Looop Lapeta dropped on January 13 and shows the two leads - Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin - facing guns and goons to save themselves from the tangle of a time loop. Pannu plays Savi while Bhasin will essay the role of her love interest Satya.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Shreya Dhanwanthary also appear in prominent roles.

Pannu has emerged fresh from the successes of back-to-back films Rashmi Rocket and &t=3s">Haseen Dilruba, both of which released on OTT last year. She will also be seen in the shoes of Mithali Raj in a biopic on the cricketer's life, Shabaash Mithu. Bhasin, meanwhile, is riding on positive fan reactions to his latest television show Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein.
