Lock Upp teaser release was announced on social media by actor Kangana Ranaut and her team. Ranaut will be hosting the show which is formatted around a jail-like set-up with Ranaut deciding the rules. The reality show will begin by this month and will be aired online. The show will mark Ranaut's debut on the online streaming platform.
Calling it the baap of the reality shows, the makers of the show dropped the poster and now the teaser is also out. Lock Upp will air on MX Player from February 27. While the trailer of the show is scheduled to release on February 27. As per the teaser, it seems Ranaut will be setting her own rules for the celebrities who will be participating in the show.
The poster has the actor in a glittery gold suit with a sleek ponytail look. She wears a metallic boot as she rests her foot on the shoulder of a kneeled person with orange coloured clothing determining the person as a prisoner. In her right fist, she holds a pair of handcuffs. The background of the poster shows a prison-like structure. Ranaut shared it with the caption, "Mere samne ab sabko karna padega kneel. (Everyone will have to kneel in front of me)! Iss badass jail mein hoga atyaachaari khel (In this badass prison there will be a torturous game)!"

Today the teaser for the show was released. The 59-second long teaser begins with a long shot of the interior of the jail with bars, and Ranaut saying, "In this world, there are two kinds of people - one who likes me and the others B-grade strugglers who talk bad about me and stay in news. These haters have tried to suppress my voice by charging me with FIRs and putting the nepotism formula into play. They made my life a 24*7 reality show. But now it is my turn. And I am bringing the baap of the biggest reality show."
She adds, "My Jail My Rules! and in my prison, there will be 16 controversial celebrities." The trailer ends with her sitting in a red coloured sofa chair and in the background rings loud police sirens. Ranaut shared it with the caption, "Mera jail hai aisa, na chalegi bhaigiri na papa ka paisa (This is my jail, no brother or father's money will work!"
It will be a 72 days long jail themed survival show. Talking about the show, Ekta Kapoor, who is the producer, said that it is not inspired by any international show and Ranaut, the host will have 50 percent right to eliminate the contestants from the show. Read more here.
