The excitement for Freaky Friday 2 continues to build as Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reunite on the set of the highly anticipated sequel. Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles, and fans are thrilled to see the original stars back in action.
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Reunite For Freaky Friday 2
Twenty years after the first Freaky Friday movie, Lohan and Curtis are reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. On set, the actors were spotted wearing colourful and eccentric outfits. In one memorable scene, they were seen driving a red convertible, with Curtis giving a peace sign.
Chad Michael Murray, who played Anna’s detention buddy Jake in the original film, also makes a return. He was seen on set wearing jeans and carrying a motorcycle helmet, reminiscent of his character’s look from the first movie. While the current status of Jake and Anna's relationship is not yet clear, fans can expect a "multigenerational twist" in the new film.
What to Expect
According to a June press release from Disney, Freaky Friday 2 picks up years after the events of the original movie. Anna is now an adult with a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As the two families come together, Tess and Anna will face new challenges, discovering that their old problems might still haunt them.
The sequel will also see the return of several other beloved characters. Christina Vidal Mitchell and Haley Hudson will reprise their roles as Maddie and Peg, respectively. Although Willie Garson, who played Dr. Coleman's patient Evan, passed away in 2021, characters such as Tess’s husband Ryan (Mark Harmon) and Anna’s teacher Mr. Bates (Stephen Tobolowsky) will also make appearances. Additionally, Rosalind Chao and Lucille Soong are back as the Chinese restaurateurs Pei-Pei and her mother.
