Linsay Lohan: A clip of an interview from 2013 between Lindsay Lohan and David Letterman has resurfaced on the internet and social media users are pointing out the questions asked by Letterman.
In 2013, 26-year-old Lindsay Lohan appeared on David Letterman talk show to promote her movie Scary Movie 5. After what seemed like a normal round of interaction, Letterman started to discuss Lohan's addiction history and her time in rehabs. While Lohan is seen to be engaging with the jokes about her mental health for some time, she seems visibly uncomfortable when Letterman goes on and on.
Letterman dropped the bomb and asked Lohan, " Arent you supposed to be in rehab?", " How many times have you been in rehab?" "What is different this time?"," What are they rehabbing ?" Lindsay Lohan showed that she wasn't comfortable with the questions as she said, " We didn't discuss this in pre-interview." Even though the interview was supposed to be about Lohan's upcoming movie, Letterman hardly refers to it and goes on about Lohan's controversial public image. At one point Letterman presents a list of things that Lohan had "endured", and is about to say them aloud in front of the audience but Lohan objects, snatches the paper from his hands and tells him that he cannot say them aloud. She also said," You can't make a joke of it, that's so mean."
However, in the latter part of the interview, Letterman opens about he himself got psychiatric assistance in the past and jokes, " I have also done my time." He also appreciated Lohan for taking control of her life.
I’m less horrified by that Letterman/Lindsay Lohan exchange than I am astonished by the way she took control of it. He was awful—but she won the night. It’s important to recognize the way women have kicked back at this sort of bullsh*t beyond painting them as fragile victims.

Watched the Lindsay Lohan interview with Letterman (legitimately hadn’t seen it til now) and as a person in recovery/who felt a lot of shame for having been in AA, wow. We as a society are fucking monsters to people suffering from addiction.

This follows the recent events when celebrities and media houses were called for the way they treated Britney Spears in the past. A controversial documentary Framing Britney Spears elaborating on the incidents brought the subject to light and talked about her battle with autonomy against her father who has all rights to Spears personal and professional life.
Lohan was also among the female actors who went through a rough patch with their personal troubles and were heavily exploited by the tabloids. Mean Girls star was suffering from alcohol addiction and was also presented in court for committing crimes under influence. Since 2012, Lindsay Lohan has not lived in the US long because of the paparazzi intrusion.
