Neetu Kapoor recalls husband's battle with cancer

Karan Johar inquired about Neetu Kapoor's experience with her late husband Rishi Kapoor while they were in New York for his cancer treatment. In response, the veteran actor chose not to dwell on the sad memories and instead focused on the positive aspects of their relationship during that time.

She expressed that although the period in New York was emotionally challenging, it turned out to be the best year of her life. Neetu Kapoor fondly remembered, "Because Chintu Ji was a very loving person. I always still say in the present tense. He had a lot of love in him. But there was something, he never really showed his love."

On Rishi Kapoor's relationship with kids

Talking about his changed behaviour, she shared, "He always kept his distance, bullied people and didn’t prefer showing his love. Especially with me and my children. He was like a big thing that respect and he comes from that family. With that, he lost out on all those years with his children. He was never a friend to them, but that year he opened up and showed love towards me as well. We had the best time. We did have some really sad moments when he was neutropenic, chemo days and the red cells used to go down. But when he was fine, we used to party, go out for lunch and have fun."

On her dating phase with Rishi Kapoor

Neetu Kapoor also reminisced about the enjoyable times she had while shooting with Yash Chopra. However, her boyfriend at the time, Rishi Kapoor, imposed restrictions on her, preventing her from indulging in a wild-party lifestyle.

She described Kapoor as a strict boyfriend who would set boundaries, urging her to refrain from certain activities and encouraging her to return home early. Reflecting on those days, she mentioned the challenge of being torn between her strict mother's and her boyfriend's strictness.

On her bond with Raha

In this statement, the actor expressed her delight and joy about her granddaughter, Raha. She shared a playful anecdote about a fun activity she engages in when the baby is at home. The actor mentioned how she playfully encourages the household staff to prompt Raha to say "Papa," while Soni suggests getting her to say "Mama."

Additionally, Zeenat Aman shared her insights on the challenges of fame and the emotional toll it can take on actors. She emphasised the unpredictable nature of fame, describing it as fickle. She said, "Fame is such a fickle thing. And you cannot hinge your sense of self-worth on that. Because one day you are loved; the next day you are disliked; the third day you are hated; the fourth day you are pitied. And a few days down the road they will resurrect you again. So why would you base your sense of self-worth on something as fickle as that?."
