Kuruthi: Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Kuruthi which means "ritual slaughter" is all set to release on the OTT on August 11. The film is being described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Malayalam movie.
The film is a political thriller in the Malayalam language directed by Manu Warrier, written by Anish Pallyal, and produced by Supriya Menon under the banner of Prithviraj Productions.
Kuruthi marks the directorial debut of Manu Warrier in Malayalam cinema, who has worked in the 2014 Bollywood film Coffee Bloom and Television drama series Yudh to his credit. Talking about the project, Warrier said that the film is "a socio-political thriller that has got a bit of drama, action and thrilling elements".
The Cast and Crew of Kuruthi
The star cast consists of Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead along with Roshan Mathew, Murali Gopy, Shine Tom Chacko, Srindaa, Manikandan R. Achari, Mamukkoya, Navas Vallikunnu, Naslen K. Gafoor and Sagar Suryain in supporting roles.
The cinematography has been done by Abinandhan Ramanujam. And the film's music including all the original songs and background score has been composed by Jakes Bejoy.
Release Date
Today, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran took to Instagram posting the first-look poster of Kuruthi. In the poster, Sukumaran looks intense sitting amidst a forest with a police jeep in the backdrop. The Cold Case actor also shared the release date of the film along with the first-look poster and wrote, “This Onam, keep your friends close and frenemies closer! Kuruthi was scheduled for a theatrical release on May 13, 2021, but had to be postponed because of the pandemic. The film is all set for an Onam release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on August 11, 2021.
