The veteran actor expresses her anticipation and uncertainty about her appearance on the show, stating that she's unaware of what to expect. The conversation delves into their mother-son dynamics as the host asks her about the last time she reprimanded Khan. Though she tries to recall, Khan quickly quips that it was "quite a minute ago," which she humorously acknowledges.

Sharmila Tagore's Reaction On Saif Ali Khan's First Marriage
During the conversation, Sharmila Tagore recounted how Saif Ali Khan broke the news of his marriage to Amrita Singh to her in a sudden manner. According to the veteran actress, Saif met her during one of her visits to Mumbai and disclosed that he had something important to share. He then revealed his marriage to Amrita Singh. Sharmila Tagore described her reaction, mentioning that she was initially speechless, prompting Saif to notice her quiet demeanour and changing expression.
She suggested discussing it later, and Saif left. Following this revelation, Sharmila Tagore contacted Tiger (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi), her husband, and informed him about Saif's news. There was a prolonged silence from Tiger's end, and the conversation ended there. Sharmila Tagore further expressed her desire to meet Amrita Singh and arranged a meeting with her the next day over tea, during which they conversed, albeit still in a state of considerable surprise.
Further in the conversation, Saif Ali Khan said, "She (Sharmila Tagore) was supportive when I did it, and I remember it. She had said, ‘I believe you are living with someone and you are doing something’. So I said ‘yes’ and she said that don’t get married. And I said that I got married yesterday. And a big tear fell off of her eye. She started crying and she said ‘You really hurt me, why didn’t you tell me’. So that’s actually what happened there."
Her Reaction Of Saif-Amrita’s Divorce:
Sharmila Tagore also shared her thoughts on Saif-Amrita’s divorce, acknowledging the inherent difficulties in such situations. She said, "She (Amrita) needed time to cool down and they worked it out together. It's not just staying away, there were many things involved. It wasn't a happy time for us as Ibrahim was just 3 and we were really fond of the children and especially Tiger [Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi]. He was very fond of Ibrahim and he would say 'That’s a good lad."
Further adding, "We were doubly deprived to lose Amrita and the two kids. So it's just not him (Saif), we also had to adjust to all that."
Sharmila Tagore Was The First Choice For Shabana Azmi’s Role In RRKPK
During their conversation, Karan Johar shared that Sharmila Tagore was initially the top pick for the role essayed by Shabana Azmi in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Johar expressed his disappointment, mentioning that he felt disheartened to not have Sharmila Tagore onboard for the role. He said. 'I was so sad to not have you. I had offered Sharmila ji the part played by Shabana ji. She was my very first choice. Because of health reasons at that time, she couldn’t say yes but it is a regret I have."
The actor disclosed that she had received a cancer diagnosis and also faced health concerns amid the pandemic, leading her to decline the role. Although she didn't elaborate further on her battle with cancer or the treatment she underwent.
