Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur have been linked to dating rumours since last year. Despite Kapur mentioning a situationship on Koffee With Karan season 8, Panday expressed her disapproval of this concept, stating in an India Today interview that she dislikes the term situationship' and doesn't believe in feigning relationship statuses on social media.
Ananya Panday said, "I hate situationships. I don't like that term only. Also, I'm not on a dating app and nor do I talk about my relationships on social media. I'm not someone, who will pretend to have a different relationship status just for the sake of social media."

On the show, when Karan Johar asked Aditya Roy Kapur about dating Ananya Panday, he replied playfully, saying Johar’s rule was to ask no secrets and he'd tell no lies.
Johar teased, mentioning Panday being coy, to which Kapur responded lightheartedly, stating he was joyous as "Aditya Joy Kapur" and she was "Ananya Coy Kapur." Johar then suggested they might be in a "situationship," to which he agreed, expressing joy in the situation. When asked the first word about Ananya, Aditya said "joy" because she brought him pure happiness and bliss.
Kapoor even dodged the question with a witty phrase as he said "Moving on" quickly urging him to shift to the next topic. While Ananya Panday who was in an earlier episode on the Kouch did not confirm the rumours either opining few things are "private and special" she stated Kapoor and her are "best friends" which was quickly quipped by Johar "Pyaar Dosti Hai" referring to his iconic film's dialogue Kuch Kuch Hota Hai of best friends falling in love.

Arjun Kapoor almost confirmed Aditya Roy Kapoor dating Shraddha Kapoor in the past when Roy Kapoor was questioned by Johar "If he was stuck in the lift with Ananya Panday and Shraddha Kapoor what would he do?"
Arjun Kapoor quickly cuts the question answering "Asshiqui toh zaroor karta, ab kiske sath vo nahi pata." to which Aditya gives a stern reaction "What?!" while Arjun says "Just Kidding!" almost confirming a history of a relationship between Aashiqui 2 and Ok Jaanu co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
There was more teasing and juicy high jinks on the show as Arjun Kapoor teased Aditya Roy Kapoor with "I'm still checking you out" while the two guests also answered questions about "Off-screen role plays" as the promo continued becoming a loud house of boys truly bringing the house down as the promo ends with Roy Kapoor saying "This show has turned into full chaos."
