Kirti Kulhari on Depression: Actor Kirti Kulhari revealed that she was replaced in a Southern film in the initial years of her career, that too when she was going through a tough time in her life and felt like everything had come to an end when she got the news. Kulhari made her Bollywood debut in 2010 with Khichdi: The Movie. Some of her popular works include Pink, Shaitan, Indu Sarkar, Blackmail etc.
Speaking to RJ Siddharth Kannan, Kirti Kulhari said that there was a time, around 2009 when she was just losing everything. She had bagged a role in a South Indian film at a time when she was going through depression. After she returned from a photoshoot for the film, the makers never contacted her to come and shoot with them.
She was replaced and she didn’t realise it then. The actor continued saying that she was not in her elements and people could just see it. "I was just replaced overnight. That, in addition to what I was going through personally, just shook me up in a way… It first made me feel like it’s the end," Kulhari added. She felt like there was no coming out of it and that she was going to stay there. The actor began to think that was what her life was going to be. "It was that scary," she concluded.
However, once her mental health starter improving, she could 'see light'. The incident set her on the road towards self-healing and spirituality.
Kulhari is not the first one to have faced such a situation. Priyanka Chopra too had revealed in a 2019 interview that she had been replaced from films twice. On one occasion, a co-star informed her and another time, she read it in a paper.
Meanwhile, Kirti Kulhari has had two OTT releases in 2021, these include The Girl on the Train and Shaadisthan. She was previously seen in the web series Four More Shots Please.
