Kiran Rao has recently joined the panel of jury All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALTEFF) 2022. The film festival is scheduled to be held from November 17 to November 27.
Rao, known for her 2011 directorial debut, Dhobi Ghat, and for producing movies like Dangal and Laal Singh Chaddha, is serving on the jury for the gala, which is being hailed as one of the few environmental, sustainability, and nature-focused film festivals in India.
Rao has always been outspoken about environmental issues and has earned a reputation as an opinion leader through her creative filmmaking. Rao is quite sensitive to issues affecting the environment and is a co-founder of the Paani Foundation, which is active in the state of Maharashtra in the areas of drought prevention and watershed management. Rao has always stood for causes pertaining to the preservation of the environment and nature. This was the very reason it made sense for her to join ALT EFF, an organisation founded by environmental entrepreneur Kunal Khanna.
