What many may not know is that it's a remake of an Italian film, Perfetti Sconosciuti (Perfect Strangers). All About The Original Italian Film

Surprisingly, Perfect Strangers has been remade 28 times in various languages. The film was first released in 2016 and featured a talented cast, including Giuseppe Battiston, Anna Foglietta, Marco Giallini, Edoardo Leo, Valerio Mastandrea, Alba Rohrwacher, and Kasia Smutniak.

The film's success led to a wave of remakes across the globe. In the same year, it was remade in Greece, followed by a Spanish version in 2017. The trend continued in 2018, with Turkey, India, France, South Korea, Hungary, Mexico, and China all creating their own adaptations.

By 2019, Russia, Armenia, Poland, and Germany had also joined in, followed by Vietnam, Japan, the Czech Republic, Romania, the Netherlands, and Israel in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Perfect Strangers was adapted in Egypt, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, and once again in India. Iceland and Denmark also added their remakes to the growing list in 2023.

Plot of Perfect Strangers

Perfect Strangers follows the story of seven close friends who gather for a dinner party and decide to play a game. The game involves everyone at the table revealing the contents of their phones—calls, messages, and all.

What starts as a harmless activity quickly escalates as hidden secrets begin to emerge. The revelations lead to chaos, with the group’s relationships and dynamics unravelling by the end of the night. The film explores the idea that if people had access to their partner’s private messages, many relationships would fall apart as secrets were unearthed and trust was shattered.
