In Kathal Teaser Trailer, Sanya Malhotra Hunts For Missing Jackfruits

Sanya Malhotra starrer Kathal’s teaser trailer was recently released. The crime comedy film revolves around the bizarre case of missing jackfruits and the police's manhunt to find them.

Kathal is set in a small town and revolves around the manhunt for missing jackfruits. A young police officer Mahima, played by Malhotra is determined to find the local politician’s missing prized jackfruits and prove herself.

Kathal marks Malhotra’s first role as a police officer and the satire film attempts to pass on a social message in a humorous way.

The Kathal teaser ">trailer was revealed at the Tudum 2022 Indian event, where the over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform Netflix brings fans content such as trailers and first looks.

The Kathal teaser trailer claims the film is based on "true-ish" events and starts off with Raaz as a local politician, informing the police that two of his prized jackfruits have been stolen. The trailer shows the police officers investigating the bizarre case of the missing fruit and putting up posters regarding the same.

With a 10,000 rupees award for the missing jackfruit, the police are taking the case of the missing fruit serious. Hijinks and chaos ensue as the hunt for jackfruits continues.

The trailer ends with an officer pondering, "Don't these thieves have any standards? They are stealing jackfruit." Malhotra's character replies, "Us police officers don't have any higher standards either, we're searching for jackfruit."

Kathal

The upcoming film stars Sanya Malhotra, Anant Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Brijender Kala, and Rajpal Yadav. Kathal will be directed by debutant director Yashowardhan Mishra, who also served as a writer alongside Ashok Mishra. The crime comedy will be released exclusively on the OTT platform Netflix.

Guneet Monga, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sikhya Entertainment is the film's producer. Monga said, "We are absolutely thrilled to embark on another exciting journey with Sanya Malhotra". She described the upcoming film as a "joyride of satire and comedy".

The producer said, "Kathal, like the fruit itself, will leave you with a sweet feeling that we'll cherish in the coming times."
