Kate and Edwina Sharma lead Bridgerton Season 2 as the story revolves around a love triangle between Anthony Bridgerton and the two half-sisters. While the second season talks about the unconventional romance between Anthony and Kate, it is the Sharma sisters who provide the real love story with their sisterhood in Bridgerton Season 2.
Kate and Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton are introduced to viewers as half-sisters. While Kate (Simone Ashley) has a witty and strong-headed personality, Edwina (Charithra Chandran) is comparatively soft-spoken yet equally determined. Bridgerton Season 2 premiered on Netflix on March 25, 2022. The protective nature of Kate toward her younger sister not only captures her concern for Edwina but also portrays how she loves her enough to put her needs and desires over her own. However, as the story develops, we find the two sisters at odds with each other, vying for Anthony's (Jonathan Bailey) love. Their relationship suffers a setback when Kate falls in love with Anthony, who is Edwina's fiancé. Yet, Edwina encourages her elder sister to pursue her desires after a lifetime of chasing what's right. "Be the sister I know that you are. Be funny and brave and feeling. Be unafraid to follow your heart after doing the exact opposite for far too long. You have spent so much of your time shining your light on me, it is time for you to shine all on your own, " she advises Kate.
The Sharma sisters have been well portrayed by Ashley and Chandran and it seems that the actors shared a great rapport that seeps into the equation that their on-screen characters share. Recalling the scene where Edwina asks Kate to follow her heart, Ashley remarked that it stands as the most loving moment on the sets of Bridgerton Season 2. "That's true love," she added saying, "when you just let someone go and you want them to be the best version of themselves."
