Kareena Kapoor turns producer alongside Ekta Kapoor: Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has turned producer alongside Ekta Kapoor for a yet-to-be-titled thriller directed by Hansal Mehta, who is known for the successful web-series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.
Khan gave birth to her second baby in February this year and this will mark her first project since embracing motherhood for the second time. The actor revealed that after working in the industry for more than nearly two decades, she has decided to make her first production in collaboration with Ekta Kapoor and Mehta. Praising his filmmaking skills, she further added that this venture will mark "a lot of firsts" for her.
Kareena Kapoor Khan will also star in the film in a significant role.
The thriller, Kapoor mentioned, is inspired by a real-life incident and is set in the UK.
She claimed that the movie will be "special" as it’s her first venture since the birth of her son. Khan said she was "honoured" to work as a producer on this film with Ekta Kapoor and that she is a huge fan of Hansal Mehta’s movies. Mehta, who is excited to work with Ekta and Kareena as producers of the film, informed that their aim is to create a gripping and moody thriller. He also mentioned that Kareena will be playing a character and he is hopeful that she will do justice to her talent as an actor. Read what the name Jeh means here.
Ekta Kapoor also praised the actor and cited examples of her previous experience in Veere Di Wedding. She called her "dynamite combination of star power and talent".
Kapoor recently turned author for her pregnancy book in which she has chronicled her experience with childbirth during both her sons Taimur and Jeh. On the work front, she will be seen next in Aamir Khan co-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha.
