Karan Mehra Calls Nisha Rawal's Allegations Of Having An Extramarital Affair 'Baseless'

Karan Mehra Nisha Rawal case: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Karan Mehra has said the allegations of extramarital affair against him are "baseless".

On June 1, Nisha Rawal spoke about her husband's allegations and the alleged assault charges in a press conference. Mehra was arrested on Monday after his wife filed a police complaint against him.

Mehra alleged that his wife Rawal banged her head against the wall while she blamed her husband for domestic abuse. While in an interview, she claimed that Mehra used to hit her and hasn’t been “taking responsibility of the child” who is only four.

Claiming that Mehra was having an extramarital affair, which she learned about a "couple of months ago", she added that she confronted him about it after discovering his text messages.

Mehra, on the other hand, alleged that she has a "'violent streak" and was demanding a large sum for her alimony in the separation. Rawal spoke about all the accusations that Mehra has levelled against her and said, "It’s about my child and me." She claims she was suffering from bipolar disorder in 2014 after she had a miscarriage and at that time her husband was not available to talk and was completely detached from her. She also shared details about the alimony that she has asked from her estranged husband, TOI reported.

In latest, the television actor has denied the accusations of having an extramarital affair saying, "All these allegations are bound to come up and I will be linked with many people." These stories are baseless, he said speaking with a leading daily. "I haven’t cheated on her and I am not having an extramarital affair," he added. Mehra, meanwhile, has also added that he did not physically assault his wife on Tuesday night as she alleges. He said that she herself hit her head against a wall and threatened to "ruin" him. Following her complaint, Mehra was picked up from the house on the night of May 31.
