She Banged Her Head On The Wall: Karan Mehra On Spat With Nisha Rawal

Karan Mehra case: Television actor Karan Mehra was arrested on Monday, May 31 after his wife Nisha Rawal lodged an assault complaint against him. He was later granted bail and released the next day. In an interview post his release, Mehra has not only claimed that it was Rawal who hurt herself to implicate him, but also said that his wife had several mental health issues.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Mehra alleged that he and Rawal were going through a strained marriage. Mehra said that he wanted an amicable separation for the sake of the couple's four-year-old son. Reportedly, on May 31, they were discussing about terms of the separation, including financial arrangements, which escalated into a disagreement. Mehra alleged in the interview that his wife demanded more money than he could afford.

After the heated discussion, Rawal and her brother Rohit Sethia stepped out and returned later that night. Sethia allegedly threatened Mehra that if he didn't agree, they would go to the court and fight. "They can't hold me ransom, so I told them to go ahead. Later, Nisha barged into my bedroom, as we have been sleeping in separate bedrooms since a while. She began fighting and abusing my family," said the actor. Read more on Karan Mehra here.

Allegedly, Rawal told him that she would ruin his life and even spat on him. Mehra claimed that he did not want to talk at that moment and calmly asked her to go back to her bedroom. But his wife reportedly banged her head on the wall and said, "Ab dekho kya hota". Mehra also claimed that Nisha Rawal has mood swings and violent streak. She would throw stuff and hit herself and others. Five-six years ago, she was diagnosed as bipolar. People including our friends and relatives have seen her behaviour in public and I couldn't take it anymore," he said.

Mehra claimed that he is heartbroken as the things have come to this stage. He said that he has been disrespected and it is unbelievable that his wife is now using the 'bechari girl card'. The couple had reportedly set up cameras in the house because they have staff members but according to Mehra, Rawal and her brother had turned them off before the incident took place. They also went on the make video recordings to use as proof against him. "I am not a violent person and I told Nisha to swear on our son that I did that but she didn't," the actor concluded.
