Kannada film actress Ragini Dwivedi was brought in for questioning by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) today in connection with a drug case. The agency officials have also raided her residence in Bengaluru for the same. The actress reportedly did not appear for questioning on Thursday so a team of CCB officials, including women personnel, arrived at her house at Judicial Layout in North-East Bengaluru and brought her in.

According to Times Now, Ragini's friend Ravi Shankar was interrogated and arrested by police on charges of drug supply.
On Thursday, Ragini took to Twitter and said that she will appear before the police on Monday morning. “I am grateful for all the concern expressed by the public about a notice I received yesterday. As I received it at very short notice, I was unable to appear today before the CCB police. However out of respect for the process of the law. My advocates have presented themselves before the police, have explained my difficulty in not being able to appear today and have sought time," she wrote. Continuing her appeal she further added, "I am committed to appear on Monday morning before the police."

Who is Ragini Dwivedi?
One of the leading actresses in South Indian cinema, Ragini is originally from Haryana’s Rewari. She was born and brought up in Bengaluru. She was the runner-up at Femina Miss India contest in 2008 and has modelled for fashion designers like Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, among others before making a career in films.
She made her film debut in 2009 with the movie Veera Madakari, opposite Kichcha Sudeep. With this film, she earned recognition in the industry and subsequently won a few awards. She went on to act in several successful Kannada films after her debut. Her most famous role is in the film Kempe Gowda from 2011, and has starred in successful films like Ragini IPS, Bangari and Shiva.

Apart from Kannada films, Ragini has also worked in the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film industries. She shared screen space with famous Malayalam actor Mammootty in the 2012 film Face2Face. In 2019, Ragini played the lead role in Kannada film Adyaksha in America. This was her 25th, and so far, last film.
