According to sources, the incident occurred when Ranaut refused to comply with security procedures by placing her phone in the tray during the security check. This led to a confrontation with the CISF personnel, culminating in Ranaut being allegedly slapped by a female official named Kulwinder Kaur.

Was Kangana Ranaut Slapped by CISF Personnel at Chandigarh Airport?

The alleged slapping incident is believed to have been prompted by Ranaut's recent statements regarding women in Punjab amidst the farmers' agitation. Ranaut later reported the incident to CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials upon her arrival in Delhi.

Following the incident, Kulwinder Kaur has been suspended and now faces a police case. According to an NDTV report, the constable has been arrested as of June 7, though the official police statement is still pending. CISF, responsible for providing security at airports, has ordered a court of inquiry into the matter.

In a recent video, Ranaut addressed the incident at Chandigarh airport, stating, "I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The incident that happened today at Chandigarh airport was during the security check. As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me on my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protests. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab."

Ranaut's victory in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency against Congress by a substantial margin marked a significant milestone in her political career. Ranaut emerged victorious in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, securing a significant lead of 74,755 votes over her Congress opponent, Vikramaditya Singh. She is the fourth woman to be elected to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh and the first who does not hail from a royal family background.
