Kangana Ranaut Announces Release Date Of Chandramukhi 2

While Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for her upcoming big release Emergency, the actor has also treated fans with another big announcement of her next film Chandramukhi 2, and its release date. 

Kangana Ranaut will be playing the titular role in the Tamil film Chandramukhi 2, along with co-star and choreographer Raghava Lawrence. Raghava Lawrence is a talented dancer, actor, film director, playback singer, and choreographer who has mostly worked in Tamil and Telugu films. 

Raghava Lawrence will be seen in the lead role along with Kangana Ranaut in their upcoming film Chandramukhi 2 which is a sequel to Rajnikanth's and Jyothika's horror comedy Chandramukhi. Ranaut will portray the role of a dancer in a king's court known for her beauty and dance. 

Chandramukhi 2 Release Date

The makers announced the film to be released on Ganesh Chaturthi and unveiled the first look of Raghava Lawrence in a poster. Lawrence can be seen looking at a hole as the poster reads "We are thrilled to announce that doors of much-awaited sequel Chandramukhi 2 will be open from Ganesh Chathurthi."

The poster was also shared by Kangana Ranaut on her Instagram handle with the caption: "This September she is coming back... Are you ready?" 

The film is helmed by P Vasu, while produced by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film stars Ranaut and Lawrence in lead roles while the cast is also studded with actors like Vadivelu, Radhika Sarthkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Ravi Maria, Mahima Nambiar, Suresh Menon, Srushtii Dange, and others. 

Ganesh Chathurthi is expected to be on 19th September this year and the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. 

The trailer of the film was earlier released where we can see glimpses of Raghava Lawrence, Jyothika, and Kangana Ranaut. The vibe of the film is similar to Chandramukhi with an epical drama set up and a grand war scene.

Ranaut is known for her versatility as an actor and has been seen before both in medieval and horror roles. The film also has music by Oscar-winning music composer M.M. Keeravani.

Ranaut will next be seen in her much-anticipated political period drama film Emergency, where she is playing the titular role of late prime minister Indira Gandhi along with Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Bajpai, Anupam Kher as Jayprakash Narayan, Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw, and more. This will also mark Ranaut's single directorial debut as she shared the teaser of the film with the caption "A Protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared war on its people." She also shared the look of her as Indira Gandhi with the caption "Presenting her who was called sir." The Emergency will be released on 24 November and is highly anticipated by the audience.
