Kahani Rubber Band Ki: Comedy Film Highlights Stigma Around Condoms

Films spotlighting issues around taboos in the country are being accepted well among the audience. One such film helmed by filmmaker Sarika Sanjot is Kahani Rubber Band Ki, which is all set to release on October 14. The film is a comedy-drama starring Avika Gor, Pratik Gandhi and Manish Raisinghan in the lead roles.

Kahani Rubber Band ki, with veteran actor Aruna Irani on board, explores significant issues through humour that get brushed under the carpet in Indian households. The film explores the life of a shopkeeper who sells condoms under the brand name of rubber bands, and his marriage to the woman he loves unfolds several twists and turns in the story leading to a hilarious courtroom battle.

The film uses humour to reveal various stigmas attached to condoms, sex, and protection in Indian households. Debutant director Sarika Sanjot makes it a point to highlight this topic through a story featuring friendship, love, and family equations. Director Sarika Sanjot took to her social media to share the trailer for the film.

The story revolves around a shopkeeper who sells condoms under the name of a brand rubberband. He falls in love with a woman, and their marriage leads to the story unfolding several issues about stigmas attached to sex in society.

Apart from Avika Gor, Pratik Gandhi and Manish Raisinghan, the film also features an interesting ensemble cast including Aruna Irani, Gaurav Gera, Hemang Dave, Kanwarjit Paintal, Amit Singh Thakur, Katyayani Sharma, Meenakshi Seti, Shyamlal and Romil Chaudhary. Balika Vadhu fame actor Avika Gor will share screen space with her Sasural Simar Ka co-star Manish Raisinghan for the second time.

Veteran actor Aruna Irani will play a pivotal role as a defence attorney in the film.

Moon House Productions produce the film. While Faroukh Mistry has piloted the cinematography, Sarika Sanjot has written both the story and the dialogues of the film apart from helming the direction. The film will hit the theatres on October 14.
