Jyotika’s village drama Udanpirappe will be released as part of the combination films releasing on OTT platforms in collaboration with the production house 2D Entertainment.
Udanpirappe is being co-produced by Saravanan Sivakumar, known as Suriya, and Jyotika who also plays the lead role in the film. There would be four Tamil films releasing monthly. They are - Oh My doG, Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum, Jai Bhim, and Udanpirappe.
Suriya shared his experience about the collaboration and said, "The past year has been transformative. Given unprecedented circumstances, we innovated on different models of release."
Udanpirappe will find its release in the month of October. It is directed by Era Saravanan. It stars Niveditha Sathish, Siddhu, Samudrakani, Soori, Kalaiyarasan and Sasi Kumar.
Udanpirappe is about a sibling duo who drift away from each other because of differences in opinions. They believe in different stands regarding certain issues and as a result, the gap between them goes on increasing. After this happens, it becomes difficult to bridge this gap and eventually becomes difficult to reunite the family. Udanpirappe is a village drama about how they reunite.
The director and head of content at the OTT channel Amazon Prime Video said, "We are thrilled to lead the charge by enabling great, home-grown, local language stories find audiences across the world."
